In our proposal we decided to give all the space, that the new building take up, back to the public in the form of a lush hillside park overlooking the fjord.

Like a piece cut out of a rocky island the new Photography House lands on “Sukkerbiten”.

The Photography House on "Sukkerbiten" is located in the first row facing the fjord and in extension of two of Oslo's strong cultural offerings, the Opera and the Munch Museum. 

People walk here every day and we hope that the park can serve as a starting point for different activities, as the square does today, but also to give the many daily visitors the opportunity to be close to nature and enjoy the view while being in the heart of Oslo.
